The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.
TheLA Special School District is seeking dedicated and dependable Security Guard for Part-time Workto help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Guards will monitor school grounds, assist with access control, support school administrators during daily operations and events, and respond appropriately to safety concerns. The ideal candidate is observant, calm under pressure, and committed to protecting the well-being of our school community. Prior security or safety experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants may be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Make rounds to ensure that all buildings are secure and locked after staff departure.
+ Check all visitors and their credentials before allowing them to proceed onto the campus.
+ Ensures that the campus is secure after work hours.
+ Respond to incidents that may occur on the campus.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: WAE (Work When Actually Employed) - Part-time working 25-30 hours per week. Not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period.
Work Schedule : Typically, work hours are dependent upon the supervisor and the workload for the department.
