Job Description
This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Department of Corrections.Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise
The Deputy Corrections Program Administrator provides high-level executive oversight for Iowa’s eight Judicial District Departments.
S erving on the Department’s Executive Management Team, this leader collaborates on strategic planning, policy direction, and the implementation of evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism.
Key responsibilities include managing budgetary approvals, spearheading legislative initiatives, and fostering a healthy organizational culture through our culture pillars which include wellness and professional development initiatives.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in criminal justice or corrections and experience equal to six years of full-time progressively responsible management work in an adult correctional facility, community based corrections programs, or related criminal justice experience;
OR
graduation from an accredited four year college or university and experience equal to eight years of full-time progressively responsible management work in an adult correctional facility, community based corrections programs, or related criminal justice experience;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting eighteen semester hours of graduate level coursework in a behavioral science or management for each year of the required experience to a maximum of two years.
