**Location:** Howell, MI
**Pay Rate** **:** $15.59-20.12/hr + based upon applicable on the job experience, plus shift premiums when working evening, overnight and weekend shifts

Position Purpose:

The patient companion provides continuous observation and monitoring of assigned patients. Notifies nursing staff if the patient requires assistance, control or other nursing intervention. Knowledgeable and supportive of patients, the confidentiality of HIPAA protected information, and other related hospital policies.
Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. Our patient companions receive information from the assigned nurse regarding the patient’s anticipated behavior when arriving on the unit. Remains with and observes the assigned patient (s) at all times. Patient must be in direct observation at all times and never left unattended. Immediately alerts nursing staff if the patient requires assistance, exhibits unusual behavior or other nursing interventions.
**Shift Available:** Variable – Could Pick Up Shifts on: Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends
**Status Available:** Contingent, not benefit eligible
_Must be available for a minimum of 24 hours per six week schedule including one weekend shift. One winter holiday and one summer holiday required per year._
Required Qualifications
+ Minimum of a High school diploma.
+ Ability tomaintainprofessionalism and self-control in difficult or stressful conditions. Ability tomaintainattention forlong periodsof time.
