    Position Details:

    + Full-time schedule, Sunday starting at 1:00pm and Monday-Thursday starting at 2:00pm

    + Pay starts at $18 an hour plus opportunity for premium pay

    Position Purpose:

    The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

    Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

    + Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.

    + Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.

    + Tractor trailers will be moved around the facility, no city driving.

    + Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always.

    + Performs other related duties as assigned.

    The ideal candidate should possess the following:

    + Able to back up to the dock

    + Ability to back up within tight spaces on the yard

    + Be safe and vigilant while working on the yard

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

    • 6+ months of Yard Hostler/Switching experience

    • Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record in accordance with driver training program requirements.

    • Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.

    • Valid driver’s license (no CDL required)

    • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)

    • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years

    • Pass road test

    • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location
