    The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is possibly looking for a Microbiologist II to provide support for our government customer in San Juan, PR.

    DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Develop and maintain laboratory records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job aids in alignment with the laboratory's document control system.

    + Design and testing of new or modified strategies to measure neutralizing antibodies to dengue virus and other arboviruses, including adapting existing protocols to support high-throughput formats.

    + Maintain laboratory equipment and monitor availability of consumable supplies and reagents.

    + Complying with applicable CLIA, CDC, and federal safety requirements.

    + Conduct laboratory activities in support of molecular and serologic diagnostic assays including maintenance of cell cultures, validation of control serum samples, preparation of viral stocks and specialty reagents, NGS-DNA sequencing activities and management of data and records.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

    MS or PhD in Biology, Microbiology, or related discipline.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Experience preforming testing of clinical and non-clinical specimens.

    + Experience following laboratory procedures.

    + Experience documenting results in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

    + BSL-2 lab environment experience.

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

    + Must be U.S. Citizen

    + Must be able to pass a CDC background investigation.
