**Job Title:** Accounting / Administrative Assistant
**Location:** Staten Island, NY (Onsite)
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
**Pay:** $28–$33/hour (Temp-to-Perm)
About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accounting/Administrative Assistant to support our accounting department and daily office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, keeping systems organized, and wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced office environment. If accuracy, organization, and problem-solving are your strengths, we’d love to connect.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Process vendor and client credit applications and set up new accounts
+ Prepare and perform check runs and bank deposits
+ Draft correspondence for past-due accounts and manage collections, including bi-weekly aging reports
+ Process credit card and electronic transfer payments
+ Assist with invoice preparation and bank deposits
+ Analyze accounts to ensure payment accuracy
+ Assist with preparation and mailing of required tax documents
+ Process and record payroll
+ Set up HR employee files and ensure compliance with new hire documentation
+ Oversee employee benefits enrollment (medical, life insurance, 401k)
+ Provide administrative support including answering phones, filing, mailing, and supply management
+ Identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Related college degree and/or relevant experience preferred
+ Must be eligible to work in the United States
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
+ Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Commissioned Notary Public or willingness to complete state requirements
**Pay Details:** $28.00 to $33.00 per hour
