Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is critical in overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, and performance measurement. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving process improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. reporting standards.
• Perform fund consolidations, journal entries, and intercompany eliminations while managing complex calculations.
• Oversee accounting for capital activities, including contributions, distributions, and preferred returns.
• Manage external audit and tax processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyze fund and investment-level performance metrics, including income, appreciation, and time-weighted returns.
• Develop quarterly investor reporting packages and coordinate submissions for pension fund consultants and institutional investors.
• Collaborate with portfolio management to interpret fund results and benchmark performance against relevant indices.
• Administer and optimize Yardi systems for property and fund-level accounting and reporting.
• Lead initiatives to improve processes, implement automation solutions, and ensure accurate data integration across systems.
• Maintain robust internal controls to uphold financial data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements and partnership agreements. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. reporting standards and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using Yardi for accounting and reporting purposes.
• Ability to manage audits, tax processes, and complex financial calculations.
• Skilled in analyzing performance metrics and preparing investor reports.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining accuracy and consistency in financial data integration and reporting.
