    Senior Analyst Revenue Intelligence** **-Patient Financial Services- Corporate 42nd Street-Full-Time Days (Hybrid)

     

    The Senior Analyst Revenue Intelligence for the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) (which includes the MSHS and the Faculty Practice Plan) provides advanced analytical support to optimize hospital revenue performance. This role focuses database querying, data modeling, and reporting solutions that transform revenue cycle data into reliable, actionable intelligence for stakeholders. Epic is used as a primary data source, but the role emphasizes report-writing and ensuring the integrity of the data provided. This position will report to the Senior Director of Revenue.

     

    The Senior Analyst Revenue Intelligence performs reporting and data analysis for revenue cycle leadership and stakeholders. In addition, this role oversees the development, monitoring and generation of reports related to all areas of the revenue cycle. May also act as liaison between PFS, Finance, IT and other departments as related to revenue cycle metrics, systems and results. Provide guidance to colleagues as how to create and run reports and analyze data. Key responsibilities include preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with billing and operations teams to identify revenue risks and opportunities, assisting with audits, and supporting month-end close processes.

    Qualifications

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in analytics, information systems, finance, or related field.Masters degree preferred.

    Experience

    + 3+ years of relevant experience.Advanced MS Excel skills and experience; Power BI experience

     

    Compensation Statement

     

    The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $116,000.00 - $150,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to clearly communicate revenue performance.

    + Manage report publishing, refresh schedules, and workplace organization.

    + Ensure metrics and calculations are defined and maintained at the database level.

    + Reconcile Power BI outputs with source systems and financial statements.

    + Support operational and leadership reporting with reliable, repeatable outputs.

    + Investigate data anomalies and explain revenue variances using source-level data.

    + Track performance trends and support improvement initiatives.

    + Document data definitions, report logic, and refresh dependencies.

    + Support audit and validation requests related to reported metrics.

    + Acts as a key data analyst for all revenue cycle, functioning as a master report writer and ensuring the integrity of the data provided are necessary for good decision making.

    + Develop and maintain reports on revenue trends, highlight risks, and provide meaningful reporting to leadership and cross-functional teams.

    + Contribute to the design, implementation, and documentation of scalable revenue processes, processes, and controls.

    + Analyze large data sets to validate underlying system configurations and financial reporting outputs.

    + Support annual audit requests and provide documentation for revenue-related testing.

    + Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and automation to drive efficiency in revenue accounting operations.

    + Support investigation into claims patterns, payor mix evaluation, and other strategic analytics to optimize payor performance.

    + Develop analytical models that are well-documented containing advanced formulas and functions that are used to evaluate historical trends, forecast future expectations, or draw conclusions.

    + Conduct complex analyses adhering to best practice standards by selecting appropriate data sources, developing assumptions, recognizing considerations, and establishing recommendations.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

    + Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency through data analysis.

    + Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis.

    + Resolve unreasonable results, suboptimal solutions, and data anomalies based on experience and professional judgment.

    + Build effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across departments.

    + Resourceful in creating or fine-tuning the processes necessary to complete the work along with the ability to organize people and activities.

    + Challenge existing norms or courses of action to facilitate fully informed decision-making. Help institute balanced decision-making by identifying risks and opportunities.

    + Create feedback loops and enhancement pipelines informed by stakeholders and data.

    + Ensure compliance with all HIPAA privacy and security standards.

    + Conform to the established policies/ procedures/ processes/ Standards of Behavior.

    + Performs other duties as required by the Senior Director of Revenue.

    + Build, maintain, and refine complex financial models to produce and present accurate, data-driven reports which analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.

    + Data accuracy and validation focus with the ability to translate business requirements into reporting solutions.

    + Demonstrated ability to engage in positive, powerful persuasion with individuals or groups with diverse opinions and/ or agendas, leading to outcomes that meet identified goals.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational abilities. Accuracy, attentiveness to detail and time management skills are required.

    + Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and other clinical professionals internally and externally.

    + The ability to maintain a high level of positive energy/ creativity during periods of elevated work demands.

    + Ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment and deliver quality outcomes.

    + Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels throughout the organization
