Job Description
Role Overview
+ Design, develop, iterate, and execute design concepts across 360 Creative Marketing campaigns, windows, brand collaborations, shop-in-shop experiences, scaled events, and NMG Creative projects.
+ Drive projects independently while developing creative concepts that demonstrate vision, align with business/marketing objectives, and support overall brand strategy.
+ Contribute to the evolution of Nordstrom Creative strategy and how Creative Marketing expresses and amplifies it.
+ Collaborate effectively across Creative Marketing, NMG Leadership, and cross-functional partners.
+ Present concepts confidently and communicate creative intent clearly across all levels of leadership,
+ Serve as an inspirational thought leader, guiding team members through project development without formal people management responsibilities.
+ Lead design and branding efforts for environmental projects within Creative Marketing and NDC,
+ Partner with NMG Leadership, Brand teams, and Creative Marketing Leadership to deliver innovative, experience-based designs that meet strategic business needs.
+ Independently lead large-scale projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and creative standards.
+ Meet regularly with Creative Marketing, NMG partners, Brand Leadership, and Brand partners to stay informed on business priorities and deliver impactful creative solutions.
+ Provide leadership in the use, training, and mentorship of VM Design tools and presentation methods.
+ Create proposal decks that clearly communicate design concepts and help partners visualize ideas.
+ Produce drawings and design documents to support planning, prototyping, and rollout of new concepts.
+ Develop vendor proposals, specifications, production files, and material guidelines for bidding and fabrication.
+ Demonstrate strong understanding of production methods and materials suitable for large-scale 3D environmental projects.
+ Review and approve prototypes, ensuring accuracy of execution and adherence to project timelines.
+ Work within defined budget constraints while collaborating with VM Engineers to make decisions that maintain visual standards and project intent.
+ Manage project timelines, deliverables, and production schedules to ensure on-time completion.
+ Oversee external design or production partners as needed, including prototype evaluation and final approval.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of experience in environmental design, retail experience design, visual merchandising, or related creative disciplines
+ Demonstrates a holistic understanding of Visual Merchandising practices at Nordstrom.
+ Strong communication, organization, delegation, and follow-through skills.
+ Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership.
+ Strong strategic planning abilities and critical thinking skills.
+ Ability to think and communicate effectively in both 2D and 3D design frameworks.
+ Full proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, and CAD applications.
+ Knowledge of NDC and VM specifications, tools, and material resources.
+ Ability to manage budgets and track spending.
+ Strong strategic planning abilities and critical thinking skills

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$80,000.00 - $132,000.00 Annual
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
