    Summary This front-line supervisory position, Case Processing Supervisor, Operations Branch, is located in the Probate Division at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The incumbent is responsible for providing supervision, oversight, case processing management, and quality review of branch functions and employee work, in compliance with applicable Court rules and policies, and Division business processes and standard operating procedures. Responsibilities Brief Description of Duties: As the Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing the following major duties: Assists the Branch Supervisor with managing the day-to-day unit operations to meet the tactical objectives and key performance indicator targets derived from the division’s Management Action Plan (MAP) and the Court’s Strategic Plan. Provides direct supervision of direct reports; planning, delegating, and evaluating work to be accomplished by subordinates; and, setting and adjusting work priorities. Manages unit staffing and unit logistics to ensure effective operations and a safe work environment. Monitors and processes cases to ensure compliance with established procedures. Makes recommendations for new initiatives and improvements to the Branch Chief; implements best practices, business processes, and standard operating procedures for efficient operations and effective customer service. Submits reports to the Branch Supervisor, including, but not limited to, those pertaining to: caseload errors; management action plan objectives; key performance indicators; and personnel actions, all of which may be statistical, narrative, or advisory in nature. Ensures a collaborative employee performance management approach by managing: the development and implementation of performance plans and evaluations; continuous feedback, coaching, and rewarding of staff; documentation of satisfactory and unsatisfactory performance; the timely addressing of performance issues; and the issuance of corrective actions, as needed, in accordance with Court policies and division procedures and standards. Processes daily financial reconciliation. Providing administrative, procedural, and technical assistance to employees, judicial staff, and the public. Requirements Conditions of Employment Background and security investigation are required. A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed. Documentation of completion of the DC Courts Management Training Program, if applicable 5. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma/GED and at least six (6) years of clerical and/or administrative experience in a court and/or legal environment, and one (1) year of experience as a supervisor. Attention to detail and time management are required. Successful completion of the Courts' Management Training Program counts as one year of supervisory experience. A bachelor’s degree in legal studies, business administration, public administration, human resources administration, or a closely related field; two (2) or more years of supervisory experience is preferred. Education Substitution: An associate's degree and at least four (4) years of clerical and/or administrative experience in court and/or legal environment and one (1) year as a supervisor. Successful completion of the Court's management training program counts as one year of supervisory experience. A bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of clerical and/or administrative experience in a court and/or legal environment and one (1) year as a supervisor. Successful completion of the Court's management training program counts as one year of supervisory experience. Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required. If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
