Job Title: Sheet Metal Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for performing advanced production activities on various types of saws including vertical and horizontal saws. You will review work orders and tooling instructions, choose the correct material for each job, position work pieces for processing, and operate a combination of different saws. Additionally, you will determine processing specifications such as materials, location of cuts, and dimensions, install and align cutting blades, and adjust controls for optimal cutting speed, depth, and feed rates. You will also perform quality inspections, diagnose problems, and coordinate material handling to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Perform advanced production activities on all saws, including vertical and horizontal.
+ Review work orders, tooling instructions, or other written specifications.
+ Choose correct material for the job according to work order.
+ Position work pieces for processing; operate a combination of different saws.
+ Determine processing specifications such as materials, location of cuts, and tolerances.
+ Install and align specified cutting blades using gauges, templates, or hand tools.
+ Adjust controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates.
+ Operate saws during processing based on workload or business needs.
+ Measure and examine pieces using precision measuring instruments for conformance.
+ Perform in-process and quality control inspections per AS 9100 standards.
+ Clean equipment according to designated maintenance procedures.
+ Diagnose problems, make necessary adjustments, and remove scrap.
+ Coordinate and execute material handling.
+ Complete work order paperwork/documentation.
+ Restock material and mark identification on material/work pieces.
+ Adhere to safety and quality standards.
+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 1 year of machine operation experience
+ 1 year of warehouse experience
+ Basic measurement skills including taking, converting, and using measurements
+ Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
+ Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
+ Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience, and judgment
+ Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma/GED preferred
+ Warehousing and material handling experience preferred
+ Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting saws preferred
+ Experience on overhead crane operation preferred
+ Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination
+ Ability to read and comprehend written instructions

Work Environment
Work hours are from 1pm to 9:30pm, Monday to Friday. Initial training will be during the day shift before transitioning to the swing shift in 2026. The workspace is a non-climate-controlled warehouse with a focus on aerospace quality standards. Sh

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
