Job Title: Extrusion Technician** **Job Description
The purpose of this role is to operate a 1” Extrusion System and manufacture high-quality thermoplastic tubing that meets dimensional and quality specifications. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of ISO 9001 Standards.
Responsibilities
+ Follow safety guidelines and understand safe operating procedures required for extruding polymer tubing.
+ Clean, assemble, and disassemble the Extruder and all related components.
+ Train and become a subject matter expert on the operation of the Extruder.
+ Monitor production processes and adjust as necessary to maintain efficiency and specification adherence.
+ Conduct quality inspections using gauges, micrometers, microscopes, and other measurement devices.
+ Identify and correct quality issues or irregularities promptly to prevent scrap.
+ Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on Extruder components and ancillary equipment.
+ Maintain work product flow to ensure timely delivery of tubing for internal and external customers.
+ Provide support in all manufacturing steps from incoming materials procurement to product processing and packaging.
+ Provide input for Continuous Process Improvement.
+ Work closely with the Production Manager and Engineering in the development of new products and processes.
+ Use Resource Planning software to fill sales orders and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
+ Maintain accurate records of production data and track material usage.
+ Manage raw materials inventory.
+ Measure, mix, and load resin materials.
+ Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and quality assurance personnel.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5+ years of experience in Polymer Extrusion Systems
+ Preferred manufacturing experience within an ISO Quality System
+ Strong mechanical aptitude
+ Basic electrical understanding
+ Leadership abilities / desire to train or lead others in the near future
+ Ability to learn and cross-train quickly
+ Ability to sit and/or stand for 8-10 hours/day
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Basic ability to read CAD drawings
+ Working knowledge of polymers and rheology
+ Understanding of SPC Data Analysis
+ Root Cause Analysis
+ Understanding of ISO 9001 methodology and concepts

Work Environment
This position operates on the 1st shift from 6am-2:30pm in a 'lab coat' cleanroom environment. The department is small but growing, fostering a high-accountability and high-support atmosphere. The role demands focus, detail, and production-based tasks with a kind and dedicated team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PFLUGERVILLE, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
