    Job Title: Mill Operator** **Job Description

     

    As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and efficiently managing product flow within the mill. Your role involves transferring products from the floors to bins, dumping product into silos, and ensuring that equipment is set up and arranged properly to guarantee optimal operation and performance.

    Responsibilities

    + Clean and remove product from floors, transferring it into bins.

    + Dump product on the 7th floor into the silo.

    + Conduct mill rounds to manage equipment setup and arrangement.

    + Read, assess, troubleshoot, and adjust mill flow effectively.

    + Understand all flows and flow sheets within the mill.

    + Monitor and regulate production parameters for peak efficiency.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ years of previous work experience in production or food manufacturing.

    + Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

    + Comfortable standing for the entire shift.

    + Basic general labor skills.

    + General computer knowledge is preferred but not required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Previous experience in a mill is preferred.

    + General understanding of cleanroom environments.

    Work Environment

    You will work in a warm environment, with temperatures averaging 80 degrees and occasionally reaching upwards of 100 degrees. An air-conditioned control room is available, where you'll spend about 30-40% of your time. The dress code includes jeans or work pants, boots, and no jewelry, with protective gear such as hair nets, beard nets if applicable, hard hats, and lab coats provided. The shift schedule is from 7pm to 7am, following a 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off pattern.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
