    Department Overview

     

    The Raymond James Alternative Investments Group (AI Group) includes over 40 professionals responsible for the research, marketing, operations and administration of alternative investments. Currently, ten professionals are dedicated to product development and due diligence. The Due Diligence Team (“IDD Team”) includes individuals who hold the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation as well as the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and collectively have extensive experience in alternatives research, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, distressed debt, venture capital, private credit, and real assets. The AI Group reviews and selects high-quality, non-traditional investment products to serve the more extensive financial needs of certain qualified investors.

    Job Summary

    Under general supervision, the Alternative Investments Summer Associate will support the IDD Team in conducting quantitative and qualitative due diligence, investment analysis (e.g. financial modeling, risk analysis, validating investment merits, etc.), and making recommendations on hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, credit funds, and other non-traditional investment opportunities.

     

    The summer associate position is a temporary role.

     

    **Start Date:** Monday, June 1, 2026

    **End Date:** Friday, August 7, 2026

    **Work Schedule:** Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    + Participating in calls and meetings with investment management firms and taking detailed notes.

    + Logging notes and other sources of information within the IDD Team database.

    + Helping to supportIDDTeam in quantitative and qualitative due diligence as well as investment analysis (e.g., financial modeling, benchmarking, risk analysis, etc.) on non-traditional investment products.

    + Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Knowledge of

    + Securities markets in general

    + MS Office applications

    + Bloomberg

    + eVestmentor other hedge fund databases are a plus

    + FactSet or similar research management systems are a plus

    + Cobalt/Pitchbook are a plus

    Skill in

    + Taking detailed notes

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Exceland PowerPoint

    Ability to

    + Handle multiple priorities

    + Self-motivate

    + Meet multiple critical deadlines

    Educational/** **Previous** **Experience Requirements

    + Freshmanor Sophomorestanding(December 2027-May 2029graduates) pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.

    + Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

    + Eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (including beyond OPT/EAD).
