Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Administrative and Industrial Services Branch (Code 1102.2), Executive Support Office (Code 1100), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will provide assistance to all Shipyard departments in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization for administrative and management issues and personnel programs. You will provide briefings, data analysis, and recommendations on a wide variety of personnel action issues and problems. You will coordinate with managers in planning and developing extensive management policies and programs. You will be responsible for reviewing progress to assure accuracy and quality requirements are being met. You will evaluate the effectiveness of operations in terms of mission accomplishment, quality, and quantity standards, procedural, policy, regulatory compliance and technical competence. You will coordinate all personnel actions and answer multiple inquiries by telephone and email. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying functions, principles, and processes related to management, including civilian personnel programs. Experience selecting, directing, and supervising subordinate staff and effectively delegating authority. Experience analyzing and measuring effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive administrative and technical programs which are critical to Shipyard operations. Experience applying knowledge of program goals, objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the Shipyard departments. Experience exercising considerable, full range supervisory responsibilities and making decisions on assignments, priorities, and problems, evaluating supervisors' performance, making selections for subordinate positions, and resolving staff issues. Experience preparing and making oral and written presentations that explain strategy, resolving complex problems, providing details recommendations, and responding to requests for data.
