Position Summary
Responsible for the oversight of pediatric care, collection and reporting of data to the Hospital, and the Illinois Department of Public Health as defined by the EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) plan. Plans, monitors, and works with the Emergency Services Educator to provide continuing education for the emergency department nursing personnel.
**Position Requirements** :
**Education:** Earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher required. Graduate degree in nursing or related health field preferred.
**Licensure:** Must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of IL
**Certifications:** Required: CPR, ECRN, TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification
CEN required within 6 months of hire
CPEN required within 18 months of hire
Crisis Prevention Institute Training preferred (CPI)
**Special Skills:** Supervisory experience preferred with a high level of team skills necessary for planning, organizing, problem solving and decision-making: with a belief in the team concept. Computer skills are highly desirable.
**Experience:** Demonstrated clinical expertise in emergency nursing. Must have at least 3-5 years of current ER experience, passion for pediatrics, experience in leading process improvement initiatives and leading EDAP requirements. ENPC Instructor/Course Director preferred.
