    Job Title: Safety Director

    Job Description

    + We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Director to lead our safety and compliance initiatives across multiple locations.

    + This role is pivotal in ensuring our projects, ranging from public and private housing to historical renovations, adhere to the highest safety standards.

    + The ideal candidate will be located in Syracuse, NY, due to its proximity to our operational areas.

    Responsibilities

    + Act as the primary contact for all safety and compliance-related matters.

    + Possess strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other governmental safety compliance issues.

    + Foster a strong safety culture across all organizational levels.

    + Build relationships with team members to drive continuous safety improvement.

    + Provide leadership and mentorship on safety-related requirements.

    + Create, implement, and maintain health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.

    + Conduct site inspections, employee trainings, and hazard analysis.

    + Lead accident and near-miss investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

    + Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees and management.

    + Maintain all required safety logs and files, including the OSHA 300 log.

    + Prepare reports for management on safety performance and trends.

    + Conduct onsite safety orientations for all employees on project sites.

    Essential Skills

    + OSHA 30 certification is required.

    + Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety laws.

    + Experience in safety management, construction safety, and EHS.

    + Proficiency in site safety and safety program development.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety preferred.

    + 3-5+ years of experience in the construction safety field.

    + OSHA 500 certification is preferred.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + The work environment involves travel between various project sites, with a significant amount of time spent on the road.

    + Projects can range from small sites with 20-30 individuals to larger sites with up to 130 individuals.

    + The role includes a gas card and company vehicle.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
