Technical Sales Engineer – ManufacturingPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing and technical project support—ideally within the nuclear sector. This role is responsible for interpreting complex technical requirements, developing accurate quotations, and supporting proposal efforts while collaborating closely across engineering, quality, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Technical Expertise
+ Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, fabrication, and engineering services.
+ Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and nuclear QA documentation.
2. Nuclear Industry Knowledge
+ Familiarity with nuclear compliance frameworks such as:
+ NQA‑1
+ 10 CFR 50 Appendix B
+ ASME Section IX
+ AWS D1.1
+ 10 CFR 21
3. Proposal & Documentation Development
+ Strong technical writing skills for proposals, narratives, and technical correspondence.
+ Experience preparing detailed bid packages and comprehensive technical proposals.
4. Analytical & Costing Skills
+ Ability to develop accurate cost models, labor estimates, material assumptions, and schedule inputs.
+ Skilled at identifying risks, gaps, and uncertainties in customer specifications, with the ability to recommend mitigation strategies.
5. Project & Process Coordination
+ Experience supporting manufacturing planning and translating customer requirements into internal workflows.
+ Ability to participate in manufacturability reviews, engineering change evaluations, and strategic project planning.
6. Communication & Relationship Management
+ Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to present company capabilities and provide technical support in customer meetings.
+ Skilled at building long-term customer relationships and collaborating cross‑functionally.
7. Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines or equivalent experience considered.
+ 5–10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, sales engineering, quoting, or technical project management.
+ Strong preference for experience in nuclear manufacturing or regulated industries.
8. Flexibility
+ Ability to manage multiple concurrent quotations and priorities.
+ Occasional travel required for customer visits, project development, and industry events.

This is a Permanent position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
