Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Port Orchard, Washington. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations for a growing asphalt paving company. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term collaboration and career growth.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll and taxes for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including tracking invoices and payments.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain financial records using QuickBooks.

• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and other documentation as needed.

• Assist with government permitting and compliance, including prevailing wage requirements.

• Coordinate communication by routing messages and maintaining schedules.

• Support estimators by preparing write-ups and documentation for projects.

• Collaborate with the owners and team members to streamline financial processes. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a construction or contractor environment.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, with experience in both Online and Enterprise versions.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

• Familiarity with prevailing wage regulations and Davis Bacon compliance is a plus.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle communication tasks such as routing calls and managing schedules.

• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.

• Flexibility to work onsite and adapt to varying schedules, including increased hours during summer months.
