Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will manage and resolve complex customer accounts, ensuring timely collections and accurate reconciliations. You will work closely with financial policies and procedures to uphold compliance while contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage collections for customer accounts with significant unpaid invoices, including security, parking, and tech support charges.

• Conduct detailed research and reconciliation of outstanding invoices related to rent and percentage-based sales agreements.

• Learn and interpret contractual billing agreements to resolve discrepancies and collect payments effectively.

• Assist in documenting write-offs for accounts deemed uncollectable, ensuring proper compliance with procedures.

• Adhere to established fiscal accountability rules and collection policies set by the City and County of Denver.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate cash applications and billing processes.

• Provide thorough account analysis to identify and address payment delays.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of account activities for reporting and auditing purposes.

• Support financial operations by ensuring timely processing of cash activity and billing functions.

• Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment issues and maintain positive relationships. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable, including collections and cash applications.

• Strong knowledge of commercial billing functions and reconciliation processes.

• Familiarity with contractual billing agreements and the ability to interpret complex customer contracts.

• Proficiency in handling cash activity and ensuring accurate account records.

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for thorough account research.

• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.

• Ability to work in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

• Experience using financial software and tools to manage accounts receivable tasks.
