Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for a Part-Time Security Guard. This position is for Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and may include holidays. This is a non-benefited position; it is not eligible for insurance, retirement, paid leave, or tuition assistance. The selected candidate will be tasked primarily with issuing security badges, monitoring security cameras, conducting foot patrols, maintaining a security blotter, and responding to security alarms and emergencies.

Responsibilities include:

+ Greets and assists visitors

+ Checks in/out visitors and issues visitor badges

+ Maintains visit tracking system

+ Answers phones

+ Monitors security cameras

+ Issues parking permits

+ Ensures security protocol is followed

+ Conducts security patrols

+ Responds to alarms

+ Assists emergency response

Required Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance

+ Must be able to obtain US Government Security Clearance in a reasonable amount of time

+ Must have a valid US driver's license

+ Must present yourself in a professional and friendly demeanor

+ Ability to handle and protect sensitive and personal information

+ Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers

+ Must have excellent verbal, written, and professional communication skills

+ Must be punctual, reliable, and self-motivated

+ Must be familiar with computer systems, including Microsoft Office software and various office equipment

+ Ability to multitask while working independently

+ Must be observant and capable of making on-the-spot decisions

+ Ability to maintain a presentable work center

+ Must possess organizational skills

+ Ability to perform under pressure

+ Ability to prioritize work and assignments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

+ Ability to walk long distances in the dark, in adverse weather conditions, and climb stairs

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Active US Government Security Clearance

+ Ability to work extended hours, or cover other shifts during the week, as needed

+ Working knowledge of Lenel S2 software

+ Working knowledge of Milestone Software
