    Position Description:

    The Assistant Construction Superintendent is the field representative of the Company and is responsible for the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. The Assistant Construction Superintendent will work closely with the project team to ensure safety compliance, craft supervision and production, trade partner coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reports, quality control and craft training are handled to the Company’s standards.

    Position Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field, and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

    + Five (5) years’ experience in construction management or a related field required.

    + Professional accreditations desirable.

    + Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    + Must be able to function as part of a high-performance team.

    + Excellent working knowledge of construction methods, facilities operations and building systems.

    + Familiarity with strategic planning.

    + Ability to work collaboratively in mobile work environment.

    + Software proficiency in MS Office and report writing applications.

    + Effective written and verbal communication skills.

    Essential Duties:

    + Ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution by enforcing policies by actively participating in all safety related functions.

    + Create AHAs/STAs with Foreman for all self-performed work. Review AHAs for trade partners.

    + Create material handling and site utilization plans for specific areas. Coordinate with Project Coordinator on material needs, RFIs, etc.

    + Engage in project scheduling activities while upholding a well-maintained four-week project schedule.

    + Coordinate and supervise company work force in his/her area.

    + Facilitate the coordination and scheduling of trade partners, actively engaging in weekly scheduling meetings alongside trade partner’s foremen.

    + Maintain accurate time keeping, project logs, and cost records.

    + Ensure material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed and coded and given to the jobsite administrator.

    + Responsible for all quality control on the project, both Company and subcontractors.

    Physical Work Classification & Demands:

    + Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity.

    + Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite.

    + Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone.

    + The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office and field administration.

    + Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements.

    + Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights.

    + Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch.

    + Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist.

    + Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction for various lengths of time.

    + Grasping – Needs to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm regularly.

    + Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.

    + Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures.

    + Frequently exposed to noisy environment and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
