As a **Security Officer - Shelter Unarmed Patrol Full-Time** in **Long Island City, NY** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol residential and shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will conduct routine patrols, interact courteously with residents and visitors, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

+ Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential and shelter locations, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.

+ Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to observe and report any suspicious behavior or security-related incidents.

+ Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal procedures.

+ Work collaboratively with on-site staff and emergency responders as needed to address issues and support the well-being of occupants.

+ Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned location to help to deter potential disturbances and provide reassurance to clients and residents.

Minimum Requirements:

+ A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.

+ At least one year of security-related experience is required.

+ Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

+ Access control or badge experience is preferred.

+ X-ray screening experience is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

+ A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
