    Special Education Teacher (Middle School, Grades 5–8) - Kansas City, MO

     

    Pay Rate: $40/hr

     

    Hours: 40 per week (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM)

     

    Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join a middle school team serving students in grades 5–8. This position involves working with a caseload of approximately 10 students, providing individualized instruction, managing IEPs, and collaborating with general education staff to ensure student success. The classroom includes para support to assist with day-to-day activities.

    Responsibilities:

    + Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).

    + Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support in both push-in and pull-out settings.

    + Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.

    + Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations.

    + Support students with behavioral needs and foster a positive learning environment.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).

    + Valid state teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement (LBS1 preferred).

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

    + Ability to meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

    + Current CPR certification and health clearance (as applicable).

    Additional Requirements:

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.

    + TB screening and health certificate per state regulations.
