    Software Quality Engineer – Ensure Excellence in Aviation Software

     

    $60–$90/hour | 1st Shift | 9x80 Schedule

    About the Role

    PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly experienced **Software Quality Engineer** to join a world-class aviation engineering team. In this role, you will oversee every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring that delivered aircraft software meets rigorous design standards, complies with regulatory requirements, and performs reliably in mission-critical environments. Your work will be instrumental in safeguarding quality, safety, and compliance across complex aerospace programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Partner with systems/software development, test, and project teams to ensure quality and compliance at every phase.

    + Review and approve requirements, design documentation, and test artifacts for adherence to industry standards and company processes.

    + Participate in engineering program activities and change control boards to monitor compliance and manage risks.

    + Conduct audits, including moderate travel to supplier sites as needed.

    + Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering best practices and technical excellence.

    + Rapidly develop in-depth knowledge of program scope, technical requirements, potential risks, and milestone schedules.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred), or related field.

    + Minimum 11 years of aerospace/defense software process experience (e.g., RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498).

    + Experience with government and/or FAA-regulated projects preferred.

    + Strong understanding of audit methodologies, software development, and testing practices.

    + Proficiency in interpreting schematics, specifications, and contracts.

    + Background in software requirements development, design, and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded languages).

    + Knowledge of embedded software/hardware verification processes.

    + Exceptional written, oral, and technical communication skills.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    **Pay Details:** $60.00 to $90.00 per hour
