Automation Engineer / Robotics Specialist
Overview:
Join a leading manufacturer known for producing high-quality castings and precision components for industries such as agriculture, construction, and heavy equipment. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes. You’ll work on innovative projects that integrate robotics and control systems into manufacturing operations, helping transform traditional workflows into automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design & Development: Engineer and test automated machinery and mechatronic systems for manufacturing applications.
+ Programming & Troubleshooting: Program and optimize PLCs, robotics (Fanuc), and control systems to ensure peak performance.
+ System Integration: Combine mechanical, electrical, and software components into cohesive automation solutions.
+ Validation & Optimization: Analyze system performance, validate functionality, and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability.
+ Technical Support: Provide on-site support, training, and troubleshooting for automated equipment and processes.
+ Documentation: Prepare detailed specifications, testing procedures, and maintenance protocols for all automation systems.
+ Innovation: Research emerging technologies and recommend strategies to enhance automation capabilities.
Role Focus:
This position will primarily support new projects—designing and implementing robotic solutions for tasks such as moving casting parts through saws or material handling. While some troubleshooting of existing systems will be required, the emphasis is on creating automation that eliminates manual processes and drives efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience:
+ Core Skills:
+ Industrial automation and controls
+ PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
+ Robotics (Fanuc preferred)
+ Electrical schematic design
+ System commissioning and integration
+ Technical Tools:
+ SolidWorks and AutoCAD for mechanical and electrical design
+ Strong understanding of control systems and mechatronics
Qualifications:
+ Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, and industrial automation systems.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design work.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on innovative projects.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Bettendorf, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $63.00/hr.
