Summary:
Meta is seeking a highly experienced Director of Deployment Strategy to define and lead how data center capacity is deployed across the global portfolio. This role is accountable for translating long-range capacity demand into executable deployment strategies that balance speed, cost, risk, and supply-chain reality at scale.The Director of Deployment Strategy sits upstream of project execution and owns the strategic orchestration of deployment—including market analysis, delivery models, commercial approach, and supply-chain readiness—ensuring Meta can launch capacity predictably and repeatedly in a constrained global environment.The role directly manages capacity supply development, global estimating and supply-chain functions, using them as strategic inputs to deployment decisions. The ideal candidate combines portfolio-level judgment, commercial rigor, and systems thinking with the ability to operate across ambiguity, rapid growth, and evolving technical requirements.

Director, Deployment Strategy Responsibilities:
1. Translate long-range demand signals into phased deployment plans with clear assumptions on timing, delivery model, and supply enablement.
2. Lead intake, prioritization, and scenario planning to evaluate deployment options across markets and programs.
3. Own trade-space analysis for DEC (speed vs cost vs risk vs scalability) to inform broader IDC and infra capacity decisions.
4. Lead capacity supply development to ensure labor, manufacturing, and contractor capacity is aligned to forward deployment plans.
5. Develop capacity enablement strategies that support surge, regional expansion, and programmatic delivery.
6. Lead the global estimating organization as a strategic planning capability.
7. Ensure consistent methodologies, benchmarks, escalation logic, and confidence levels that support deployment-stage decisions.
8. Use cost intelligence to shape deployment strategies, delivery models, and market sequencing.
9. Develop DEC supply-chain strategy, including vendor readiness, scaling needs, long term commitments for resources and regional supply scaling.
10. Analyze and define deployment-appropriate commercial strategies, including contracting structures, risk allocation, and delivery models.
11. Support negotiations with Preconstruction where deployment strategy materially impacts commercial outcomes.
12. Ensure projects entering design/preconstruction are deployment-ready, with clear assumptions on cost, schedule, supply, and delivery approach.
13. Establish portfolio-level reporting on deployment health, including readiness, constraints, confidence, and risk.
14. Communicate strategic insights, scenario outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership.
15. Provide early warning on systemic risks impacting deployment velocity or optionality.
16. Lead and develop leaders across estimating, capacity supply, and supply-chain planning.
17. Build scalable operating models, clear interfaces, and a strong succession bench.
Minimum Qualifications:

18. 15+ years of experience in preconstruction, commercial management, or a related field within the data center, critical infrastructure, or large-scale construction industry
19. Proven track record of leading and developing large, impactful teams
20. Demonstrated experience in establishing and executing complex commercial strategies and multi-billion dollar deals
21. Experience managing ambiguity and navigating complex project challenges
22. Experience creating and driving vision and strategy within a large organization
23. Familiar with large capital programs, ground-up construction and greenfield site development as well as retrofit construction
24. Experience managing portfolio-level health, including budget, schedule, and risk, and communicate key insights to leadership

Public Compensation:
$246,000/year to $306,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
