    Job Title: Machine Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to work with wire braiding and jacketing machines. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that customer specifications are met by operating machines that place protective jackets on wires. Experience in cable production is highly advantageous. You will be required to move wire rails to the correct machines and ensure wires are set according to customer specifications. Basic math skills are essential to make adjustments related to order size and length.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate wire braiding and jacketing machines.

    + Move rails of wire to the appropriate machines.

    + Ensure wires are set to customer specifications.

    + Run plain wire through machines and connect to rails.

    + Monitor the extrusion process where wires are covered with a jacket.

    + Ensure the wire is cooled and wrapped properly around the spool.

    + Conduct plastic wrapping to prevent wires from unraveling.

    + Bundle multiple finished wires and feed them through the proper ports.

    + Ensure all wires are bundled, protected, and rolled onto spools.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with extrusion machines and machine operation.

    + Ability to read blueprints and make machine adjustments.

    + Knowledge of braiding and general production processes.

    + Proficiency in loading, unloading, and feeding machines.

    + Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

    + Proficient math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

    + Experience with hand tools and tape measures.

    + Capable of packaging and assembly tasks.

    + Self-starter attitude, as the workforce operates lean.

    Work Environment

     

    Our facility is well-organized and clean, with a workforce of 18-25 people, including 15-20 on the shop floor. The environment is conducive to independent work, allowing employees to focus on their tasks with minimal interruptions. Join a close-knit team committed to excellence in production.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bristol, CT.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
