Description We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to lead and manage procurement operations in Caledonia, Michigan. This role is vital in ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, components, and services while maintaining high-quality standards. The successful candidate will oversee a team of buyers, optimize supplier relationships, and contribute to inventory management and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide a team of buyers, ensuring effective workload management and encouraging skill development and growth.

• Source and procure materials, components, and services aligned with production schedules and organizational needs.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee reliability, quality, and timely delivery.

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.

• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain standards.

• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.

• Analyze procurement data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.

• Maintain accurate and organized procurement records, including purchase orders and supplier documentation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, and Finance, to address supply chain challenges.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.

• Background in manufacturing or distribution environments is essential.

• Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage vendor relationships.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with enterprise procurement systems.

• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is preferred.

• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

• Certifications in supply chain or procurement are advantageous.
