Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Ashburn, Virginia. In this role, you will handle essential accounting tasks such as year-end closings, bank reconciliations, and preparing Form 1099s. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong accounting expertise to contribute to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Prepare and manage Form 1099 documentation for timely submission.

• Reconcile bank accounts to maintain accurate financial records.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are precise.

• Handle corporate tax return processes and ensure adherence to tax regulations.

• Process journal entries for various financial transactions.

• Assist with sales tax calculations and filings.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.

• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts.

• Support the overall accounting team with ad-hoc tasks and reporting needs. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles.

• Proficiency in handling corporate tax and sales tax processes.

• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

• Experience with preparing and managing Form 1099 documentation.

• Familiarity with year-end closing procedures and journal entries.

• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams.
