The Job:
As Radio Hardware Chief Engineer, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team and will be working as a hybrid employee. Radio Hardware Chief Engineer responsibilities will include assigning tasks to engineering teams, setting & maintaining alignment of long and short-term project goals, monitoring that projects are staying within time and budgetary restraints, maintaining 3-year product roadmaps, and compiling reports for leadership reviews. As a Chief Engineer, you will engage with product execution teams across all of Pro-Electrified, and will stay close to the critical projects from start to finish. You will be the technical go-to person for radio hardware and device communication standards working closely with other Product and Digital Chief’s. You will have a strong track record of delivering results with experiences including the design, implementation, verification, validation, and qualification, of embedded radio hardware, modular radio hardware, and integrated radio hardware.
You’ll get to:
+ Architect the hardware integration of wireless technologies for Pro-Electrified devices
+ Translate performative requirements into technical requirements.
+ Collaborate with Global Supply Chain teams (Manf, Ops, Purchasing) and peer Chiefs on suppliers, footprint moves & strategies.
+ Collaborate with Product Chiefs, Tool/Device Product Managers. Digital Product Managers and Digital Connect Applications Team to ensure end-to-end success of connected products.
+ Define and manage platformed wireless protocols that are scalable and flexible for a variety of tool applications for BLE and other wireless mediums.
+ Collaborate with product leads to ensure technical requirements result in meeting user’s needs.
+ Collaborate with edge application team, front- and back-end application teams, to ensure the wireless protocol functions from an overall systems view.
+ Provide strong leadership and management to a team of product development engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
+ Drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
+ Oversee the appropriate EE module and interface integration into the product development process for power tools and outdoor power equipment.
+ Responsible for the Value Improvement, DTV, and Warranty improvement funnels (sustaining engineering pathways related to integrated Radio products and technologies)
+ Collaborate, develop, and implement a strategic roadmap for radio modules that align with the Tools & Outdoor business unit’s product roads, goals, and long-term vision.
+ Guide design verification and validation activities, including design reviews, safety reviews, module testing review, and module integration testing review.
+ Work closely with the product development leads and project management office (PMO) to develop program schedules, solve technical and execution problems, and report to Senior Management on project status.
+ Guide the team in refining system architecture based on assessment of progress/challenges/failures during product development process.
+ Identify potential risks in product development and create strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the products launch on time and with high quality processing.
+ Mentor and develop engineers to their highest potential.
+ Be a Hands-on leader who is willing to dive deep, as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Experience using design tools for product development and documentation.
+ Established success in building, growing, and developing fast-paced, experienced teams spanning multiple disciplines in battery-powered electro-mechanical products.
+ Experience developing hardware designs and applications of radios for integration into products that utilize motor drive systems.
+ Expert knowledge in BLE, LoRA, and similar point-to-point or mesh Radio and wireless communication mechanisms.
+ Familiarity with emerging public networks such as Amazon Sidewalk, Apple Find-Me
Qualifications:
+ 12+ years experience developing platformed, modularized, and standardized system solutions with key involvement in radio hardware development.
+ Ability to own direction, technical vision, and strategy direction across multiple projects concurrently.
+ Influential leader with capacity for strategic vision for a product line and knowing what it takes to drive success with those products.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Background in Systems engineering
+ Background in Functional Safety
+ Masters-level business degree
+ Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, robotics
+ Experience in the design of EE modules for battery-powered products such as power tools and outdoor power equipment

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is 134,300.00 - 268,600.00 USD AnnualUSD Annual USD per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
