Summary:
+ Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating the approval process of credentialing files as received from the Credentialing Verification Organization. Facilitates all aspects of application approval, ensuring compliance with the accrediting and regulatory agencies i.e., TJC, NCQA, URAC in regards to credentialing while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the statutes and laws. Duties include the application retrieval and review, medical dental staff leadership review and approval, management of Credentials Committee, and follow through to Board of Trustees. Coordinates privilege requests with FPPE OPPE Team to ensure compliance with associated standards.
+ Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:
+ Manage Credentials Committee and privileging process that effectively utilizes available quality data and incorporates best practice standards.
+ Responsible for local governance of the credentialing approval process, including appointment, reappointment, for Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Providers in accordance with Medical and Dental Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, TJC standards, and State and Federal law.
+ Coordinate application review and approval process with appropriate medical dental staff leaders.
+ In coordination with Administrative Assistant smoothly and effectively communicates all aspects of provider demographics from initial application to termination with internal data systems - EPIC, Soft, OpTime, etc. To include but not limited to practice demographic details, name changes, status transfers, etc.
+ Serve as primary resource for Focused Professional Practice Evaluation as it relates to initial and ongoing privileging medical staff members and advanced practice providers. Work in coordination with FPPE OPPE team to ensure compliance with TJC standards.
+ Confirms applicant meets eligibility requirements as defined under Department Rules and Regulations, and also Medical and Dental Staff Bylaws e.g. exclusivity, board eligibility, certification, distance, and solo coverage agreement
+ The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
+ Develop and maintain an effective onboarding orientation and off-boarding process for medical dental staff providers.
+ In coordination with Chief Chairs continuously review revise privileges and Rules and Regulations as needed for Medical and Dental Departments and Divisions.
+ Oversees provisional appointment review process in coordination with responsible administrative assistant.
+ Other dutes as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent GED .
+ Five 5 years of experience as a Medical Secretary or equivalent .
+ Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist CPCS , issued by the National Association of Medical Staff Services. If not certified upon hire, certification required within one 1 year of hire.
+ Five 5 years of experience as a Coordinator Supervisor of Medical Staff secretary.
