Job Title: Shop Service Technician** **Job Description
As a Shop Service Technician, you will troubleshoot and repair various pieces of custom equipment by diagnosing issues using your knowledge of hydraulics and electronics. You will utilize hand tools and equipment for repairs, assist with fabrication through cutting and welding, and ensure all functions are operating correctly. Your role will involve testing pressures, recording data, and communicating with supervisors regarding any job-related problems or improvements.
Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot problems on custom equipment based on customer explanations.
+ Diagnose issues using knowledge of hydraulics and electronics repair.
+ Operate hand tools and equipment to conduct repairs.
+ Provide fabrication assistance by cutting steel, plasma cutting, and basic welding.
+ Order necessary parts for repairs and verify correct functionality.
+ Test pressures and record them on the test sheet.
+ Communicate with supervisors when encountering problems.
+ Recommend procedural or functional changes in the general interest.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and wiring schematics.
+ 2+ years of experience in servicing heavy equipment.
+ 1+ year experience with basic hydraulics and 12-volt electrical systems.
+ Experience in electrical diagnostics and identifying relays/shorts.
+ Strong understanding of mechanical systems related to the commercial truck industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certifications in mechanics are a plus.
+ Knowledge of wiring stop/start systems and ability to use a programmer.
+ Mechanic diesel and automotive body expertise.
+ ASE certified mechanic preferred.
+ Proficiency in calibration and repair.
+ Ability to operate saws, plasma cutters, and oxygen/acetylene torches.
+ Understanding of sizes of fittings and hydraulic hoses.
+ Ability to adjust pressures and reliefs.
+ Basic math skills and ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
+ Mechanical design and practical experience in hydraulics or mechanical layout.
+ Experience in the heavy equipment industry preferred.

Work Environment
This role operates on the 1st Shift from 6am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday and 6am to 12pm on Friday. The work environment involves exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, various weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Physical activities include sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The job requires frequent lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $87360.00/yr.
