Dermatopathologist - Open Rank- Assistant to Associate Professor - 38643 Faculty
The Department of Pathology (DOP), University of Colorado Anschutz seeks a full-time (.5 to 1.0 FTE) junior to mid-career faculty member in academic dermatopathology at the rank of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor to join two (2) experienced academic dermatopathologists based at the affiliated 925 bed University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) located in metro Denver. The DOP provides professional and technical anatomic pathology services to the UCH and affiliated clinics using a subspecialty sign out model. The affiliated academic dermatology practice offers a full array of clinical services including general dermatology, Mohs surgery, cutaneous lymphoma expertise, and an inpatient dermatology consult service. The dermatopathology service is an integral part of an active cutaneous oncology program that provides a multidisciplinary approach for patients with cutaneous malignancies that includes a large number of patients with melanoma as well as Merkel cell carcinoma and advanced squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. While the primary clinical focus of this position is in dermatopathology, secondary clinical interests in other areas of pathology will be accommodated. Faculty engage in scholarship, through collaborative scientific investigations and/or through the development of their own research programs. Faculty engage in teaching in the 25 person Pathology Residency Program, eleven fellowship programs, Dermatology Residency Program, medical school, and other graduate health programs. Faculty are part of a multidisciplinary team, inclusive of other pathologists, technical staff, and non-pathologist providers; thus, strong communication and professionalism skills are necessary.
+ Adherence to the quality standards and regulatory requirements associated with the anatomic pathology, the molecular pathology, and the cytogenetics laboratories, as well as UCH and affiliated clinics
+ Ensure timely completion and accurate reporting of pathology tests associated with your practice, consultations, or translational research.
+ Consult with peer pathologists on cases as requested or required by policy.
+ Participate in the education of pathologists and affiliated non-pathologist providers through consultations, including at multidisciplinary clinics, and the application and education associated with dermatopathology test interpretation.
+ Train and supervise pathology and non-pathology residents and fellows.
+ Engage in scholarly activities as broadly defined by the School of Medicine, inclusive of the scholarship of application, teaching, integration, and discovery.
+ Maintain exemplary professionalism and continue to develop collaborative relationships with the pathology community and non-pathology providers.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
+ Completion of fellowship training in dermatopathology and eligible to sit for the dermatopathology board exam from the American Board of Pathology. The successful candidate must achieve dermatopathology board certification within one year of employment.
+ 0-5 years of experience **Associate Professor:**
+ Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) with residency training in anatomic pathology.
+ Completion of fellowship training in dermatopathology and board certified in dermatopathology from the American Board of Pathology
+ 5-10 years of experience.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as Assistant Professor: $255,000 to $280,000 Associate Professor: $275,000 to $320,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
