Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Controls Construction Technician IV that is responsible for all controls installations, advanced troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning tasks. You will also be developing specifications for controls and electrical components, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and serving as a technical mentor for lower-level technicians.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing specifications for controls and electrical components.

• Read and interpret sequences of operations for control logic, electrical diagrams, manuals, and drawings.

• Diagnose system performance issues through functional testing and correct programming deficiencies.

• Set up and troubleshoot network protocols, including BACnet MSTP, BACnet/IP, Modbus, and Lon.

• Build control panels and address any deficiencies in submittal drawings.

• Identify and address scope gaps by submitting RFIs (Requests for Information).

• Prepare and submit documentation for change orders to customers as needed.

• Comply with all safety protocols, including arc flash, confined space, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience with Tridium AX/N4, Distech, Siemens, and Schneider Electric systems.

• 4+ years of experience as a Controls Technician.

• Strong understanding of A/C and low-voltage D/C electrical circuits and their operation.

• Hands-on experience with at least one control platform (e.g., Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet).

• Proficiency in access control and lighting control installations and programming.

• Advanced controls programming and troubleshooting expertise.

• Ability to execute assigned project tasks efficiently.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
