Position Summary

Feed mill with logs from wood yard as designated by a wood storage and use schedule. Unloads incoming log trucks into wood storage.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

+ Operates Portal Crane and other mobile equipment and performs routine maintenance on equipment.

+ Completes mobile equipment operator's report daily.

+ Notifies Maintenance Department and/or shift supervisor of operating deficiencies noted during inspections and/or operations.

+ Unloads log trucks and places into wood storage inventory as directed by scalers.

+ Builds stacks that are uniform and neat.

+ Keep stray logs picked up and clear of both sets of rails.

+ Removes logs from wood storage and places on in feed decks.

+ Assists in keeping logs straight on in feed decks.

+ Maintains communication with wood scaler

+ Adheres to wood storage and wood rotation schedule.

+ Ensures safety of log truck drivers by monitoring position of trucks and location and activities of truck drivers and providing verbal instructions as needed via radio.

+ Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.

+ Maintains operations by reading, interpreting, and applying complex written instructions in the form of Standard Operating procedures and other written instructions.

+ Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ 0 to 3 Years Manufacturing Experience.

+ 0 to 3 Years crane operator experience preferred

+ Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving whole body and multilimbed coordination.

+ Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays per shift schedule
