Senior Director Brand and Marketing Communications (E6026) - 250351 : EXE-A40 Description Job Summary The Senior Director, Brand and Marketing Communications, is the visionary driver of external communications and brand positioning & identity. This seasoned leader is responsible for brand management and growth, driving the transformation agenda to create a modern, personalized marketing approach. This includes leading digital-led engagement strategies (website/mobile, content, Creative Studio) with the overarching goal of delivering on the strategic plan to significantly increase public awareness and understanding of IEEE to make it a household name. The position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and have responsibility for 5 direct reports. Key Responsibilities Brand Management & Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the brand strategy, positioning, and standards to drive brand growth and ensure consistent application across all channels and touchpoints. Monitor brand health, perception & awareness Modern Comms Transformation: Set the agenda for transforming marketing communications toward a personalized, modern, and data-driven approach, utilizing CRM strategy and automation. Digital Channels & Content: Lead website content strategy and development, ensuring a mobile-first approach. Manage website hosting in collaboration with the IT Digital team. Content & Creative: Oversee the in-house Creative Studio and the development of 360 content and compelling storytelling. Contemporize how the brand shows up whilst remaining true to its roots. Social & Personalization: Own the social media strategy and execution, considering current and future audience engagement trends. Own the email marketing strategy and execution, driving the road to personalization and effective use of member/audience lists. Agency Roster Management: Manage and optimize the external marketing agency roster to ensure effective and efficient service delivery aligned with the strategic plan. Travel Information 20% Domestic and International Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req Master's or other advanced degree Pref Work Experience 10-15 years Progressive experience as a brand & marketing communications leader, with significant experience in a senior role overseeing brand management and digital/integrated marketing. Proven success in defining and implementing modern marketing communication strategies across diverse digital platforms. Proven experience in leading engagement strategies and content development for different audiences. Must be able to consider youth engagement. Req Skills and Requirements Brand Management Depth: Deep experience in setting brand positioning, value proposition development, and global brand monitoring. Digital & Personalization: Expert knowledge of digital marketing, content strategy, web platforms, and the technologies used to drive personalization (CRM/email marketing). Social Channels Expertise: Strong proven skills in developing and executing an enterprise-level social media strategy and expanding channel use. Creative Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and guide an internal creative studio or external agencies to deliver high-impact, cohesive assets. B2C/B2B Blend: Proven experience managing the complexities of both B2B and B2C audiences. Proven track record in leading and managing change programs focused on digital and communication transformation. Experience in a fragmented or federated ecosystem, requiring strong stakeholder influence to enforce brand cohesion. Experience with global website governance and content strategy at scale, with specific Mobile First experience.
