    Job Title: Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)Job Description

     

    The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) holds a strategic finance role responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting support within a small BioPharma Sponsor organization. This position acts as a financial business partner, generating meaningful reporting and analytics while serving as a liaison between functional heads and the finance department.

    Responsibilities

    + Generate meaningful financial reporting and analytics.

    + Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate costs, resource requirements, and investment scenarios for new and ongoing projects.

    + Provide monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support operational reviews, variance analysis, and executive presentations.

    + Partner with functional leaders to monitor department financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.

    + Act as an integrated business partner with all R&D Departments, providing thought leadership and analysis for ongoing business initiatives.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial planning and reporting across all aspects of clinical development.

    + Manage the coordination and consolidation of cross-department expense forecasts for all recurring planning processes, including rolling forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range plans.

    + Serve as the primary liaison between functional teams and finance leadership to ensure efficient and effective process establishment and continuous improvement.

    + Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies, and relevant regulations in the management of clinical budgets and expenditures.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.

    + 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or clinical research sector.

    + Strong understanding of clinical trial budgeting, cost drivers, and project management principles.

    + Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools (Excel, Dynamics 365).

    + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.

    Work Environment

    This position offers part-time hours, up to 20 hours per week, and is remote-based within the East or Central Time Zone. Candidates must have morning availability starting at 7 am Eastern and the willingness to work with global stakeholders.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Remote, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
