Description
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our Construction client in Dallas, Texas. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a solid background in accounting and a keen eye for detail, who thrives in the fast-paced construction industry. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health and strategic goals of the organization while working collaboratively with a dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
• Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries, to maintain financial integrity.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, delivering insights to support business decisions.
• Coordinate and support financial audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor and report on key financial metrics, providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Utilize construction-specific accounting systems, such as Procore, to manage project financials effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to entry-level accounting staff, fostering their growth.

Requirements
• At least five years of financial management experience in a related field, with significant time spent at the assistant controller level or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on accounting; advanced qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Economics are advantageous.
• Experience in public accounting and CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Construction or General Contractor experience
