GSI is looking for a talented **Deputy Program** **Manager** to join our growing team! In this role, you provide comprehensive program management support for a portfolio of 50+projects focusing on schedule integration, performance tracking, and acquisition optimization.
We are seeking passionate, skilled, and experienced professionals to join a major program and construction management team that is dedicated to supporting a large government customer in successfully delivering on this significant initiative. In our anticipated role, GSI will provide Owner Agent Construction Management Services including Program Management, Construction Management, Risk Management, Scheduling, Cost Estimating, Progress Reporting, Construction Quality Assurance, Safety, and other supporting services to achieve program success.
What You'll Be Doing** **:
The Deputy Program Manager will provide comprehensive engineering, construction, contracting, and environmental support services to assist the Government in overall program management and delivery of its construction project portfolio. This includes providing expertise in project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, design review, constructability analysis, value engineering, risk management, acquisitions strategy, contracting, and environmental compliance. The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the Government in the development and implementation of program-level strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient project execution across the portfolio.
+ Support the development of project scopes, including preparing detailed cost estimates. This may include site visits, gathering requirements, developing work breakdown structures and identifying potential cost drivers.
+ Ensure that project scopes are clearly defined, and cost estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with program budget constraints.
+ Conduct thorough design and constructability reviews of project plans and specifications. This includes identifying potential design flaws, constructability issues, and cost saving opportunities.
+ Provide guidance to the client on how to improve design quality, reduce construction cost, and minimize project risks.
What Required Skills You'll Bring** **:
+ Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
+ Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in project management.
+ Experience supporting large-scale federal construction projects.
+ Demonstrated ability to assist with administrative tasks related to project support.
+ Proficiency in gathering information for research program taskers and providing workflow recommendations.
+ Strong organizational skills for maintaining and organizing research documents.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring** **:
+ Familiarity with government initiatives, and programs.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
+ Experience with construction management processes and tools.
+ Knowledge of standard business processes used in the construction industry.
+ A passion for learning and implementing innovative technologies to drive program success.
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position at a minimum shall have a favorable fingerprint check and have the minimum tier 1 investigation initiated and completed to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).
Location:
Norfolk, VA
mix of on-site work and telework, with the expectation that the personnel will be in person the majority of the time, at least 75%.
