Program: Clinton Residence
Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000

Our comprehensive and integrated 24/7 programs are designed to offer the holistic care our clients need. With a staff of 950+ and an annual budget of $120 million, Project Renewal is one of the larger social service nonprofits in New York City.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for designing and implementing OT programming at Clinton under the guidance of the designated Senior Occupational Therapist(s). The primary goals of this programming will be to:
+ Provide direct OT treatment to facilitate each client’s ability to perform activities of daily living with the highest degree of safety and independence possible.
+ Collaborate as a member of the multidisciplinary team to achieve overall program goals around client health and wellbeing, housing stability, and readiness for permanent supportive housing when indicated.
+ Support a trauma-informed, therapeutic structure to the daily operation of the program which promotes client participation and enables clients to utilize their time in a productive and meaningful way.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the Occupational Therapist include but are not limited to the following activities:
+ Working with program leadership to identify primary goals and role of OT on site.
+ Working with Case Managers and other key staff to identify clients in need of services.
+ Ensuring that clients are aware of the OT program and all available services.
+ Developing, implementing, and leading skill-based OT groups to address client
+ needs and goals.
+ Conducting individual client assessments and developing client-centered intervention plans.
+ Conducting 1:1 OT sessions focused on developing skills for effective ADL performance.
+ Conducting room assessments and providing home management skill training as indicated.
+ Working with clients in their home environments to maximize function and safety.
+ Accompanying clients to appointments for medical and/or psychiatric treatment, benefits assistance, leisure and/or vocational exploration, etc.
+ Linking clients to appropriate community-based services.
+ Planning building-wide special events and community outings.
+ Documenting all clinical work as per program requirements.
+ Collecting data and consulting with PEQA to ensure program objectives are being met.
+ Collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team including the Program Director,
+ Case Managers, the program Nurse, the program Psychiatrist, Maintenance staff, Security staff and others.
+ Collaborating with OT colleagues across programs for enhanced coordination of care.
+ Assisting with on-site supervision of Level I and II OT interns.
+ Participating in weekly clinical staff meetings and Clinton High-Risk Calls.
+ Participating in monthly OT Department meetings.
+ Participating in weekly supervision with assigned OT Supervisor.
Qualifications:
+ Candidates must have a Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy
+ A current valid NYS licensure, or temporary licensure at time of hire
+ Understanding of severe and persistent mental illness and training and/or experience in community based behavioral health is strongly preferred but not necessary
+ Additional responsibilities and/or requirements may be determined based upon the specific program and client population’s unique needs.
