Job Title: General Labor** **Job Description

We are seeking dedicated General Labor professionals to join our team in manufacturing a variety of brick sizes and colors. Your role will involve blending, repacking, cutting, waxing, and hand setting of bricks. You will be responsible for operating equipment to band bricks, manage strapping tools, and handle materials with precision and care.

Responsibilities

+ Operate equipment to band bricks, including placing cross straps on cubes.

+ Lift and manage materials such as banding rolls and edge protectors, weighing up to 40 pounds.

+ Engage in activities that involve twisting and bending during operations.

+ Cut faces off bricks for display panels and manage the movement of bricks through a conveyor system.

+ Inspect and grade bricks according to company specifications including chips, cracks, size, and color.

+ Maintain good equilibrium during standing tasks and understand body positioning to prevent injury.

+ Participate in packaging bricks and setting them onto kiln cars.

+ Perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 50 pounds.

+ Potentially operate machinery and receive forklift training.

Essential Skills

+ At least 3 months of experience in a general labor role requiring long periods of standing.

+ Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.

+ Physical stamina for lifting and managing heavy materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in production, warehouse, or inspection roles is advantageous.

+ Potential for forklift operation training is available.

Work Environment

Work in buildings heated during winter, with a team of 100-130 employees ranging from office to production staff. The dress code requires closed-toed leather work boots, jeans, and a t-shirt. Work typically occurs Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with possible overtime on weekends. Shift workers have a rotating schedule with potential holiday work. The environment demands physical labor and adherence to safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ADEL, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.95 - $24.44/hr.
