Job Title: Lead Paint Operator

Job Description

The Paint Operator is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing parts and products according to company specifications and quality standards. This role ensures proper coating application, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols within the paint department of a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

+ Operate and maintain paint equipment, including spray guns, booths, and ovens.

+ Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.

+ Mix and apply paint or coatings according to specifications.

+ Follow all safety guidelines, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE usage.

+ Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of paint equipment.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Ability to stand for shift durations outside of break time.

+ Good interpersonal skills.

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.

+ Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency in painting, paint preparation, plastic work, sanding, production, spray gun operation, industrial painting, and paint systems.

+ Familiarity with paint shops and injection molding machines.

+ General labor experience in paint manufacturing.

Work Environment

This position operates within the paint department, which functions independently within the facility. The role involves working the 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with full PPE, including paint gowns and, at times, respirators or paint masks. Parts are delivered from production, taken through the booth, and then finished for outbound shipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $37440.00/yr.
