Job Title: Janitor/Custodian** **Job Description

Join our team as a Janitor/Custodian at a large manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for performing all custodial duties during your assigned shift. Your responsibilities will include managing trash, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms. Additionally, you will handle temporary clean-up tasks involving packaging and minor debris from the construction of the facility. You will work independently with minimal supervision and will be responsible for notifying your supervisor when supplies need to be reordered. This role requires a significant amount of walking due to the facility's size. Although it may seem daunting at first, the workload is manageable as manufacturing operations have just begun with a small crew. This position offers growth potential as the team expands.

Responsibilities

+ Perform custodial duties including trash management, sweeping, mopping, and bathroom cleaning.

+ Temporarily clean up packaging and minor debris from construction activities.

+ Work independently with minimal supervision.

+ Notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.

+ Walk extensively across the large facility to ensure cleanliness.

Essential Skills

+ At least 2 years of janitorial or custodian experience.

+ Strong understanding of daily cleaning needs based on previous experience.

+ Ability to maintain cleanliness standards in a large facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in floor maintenance, including operating floor scrubbers, ride-on equipment, and side-by-side machines.

+ Preference for candidates with experience in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a very large manufacturing facility that is slightly air-controlled but not air-conditioned. The building is nice and new. Shifts available are from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookshire, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
