Job Description
The position involves providing a variety of general laborer duties and services. This includes cleaning the yard, delivering materials, setting up for specified work on a vessel, preparing vessel surfaces, performing fire watch and hole watch duties, assisting in docking and undocking vessels, and supporting other shipyard workers and trades as needed.
Responsibilities
+ Perform fire-watch assistance with the set-up of containment, equipment, leads, blowers, ventilation, etc.
+ Prepare and clean work areas as directed by the on-site lead.
+ Operate basic standard tools and disassemble minor and major mechanical equipment as instructed by the lead.
+ Support ship repair and shipyard operations by using hand tools, power tools, and performing clean-up and debris removal.
+ Assist with the fabrication and assembly of various insulating systems, including cutting, shaping, positioning, alignment, and mounting on piping systems and ventilation ducting.
Essential Skills
+ General labor experience in ship repair and shipyard environments.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
+ Experience in fire watch and hole watch duties.
+ Ability to perform clean-up and debris removal tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be able to obtain a DBIDS.
+ Must complete OSHA/FW and RADCON training prior to starting.
+ Previous experience as a shipyard laborer is preferred.
+ Knowledge, skills, and abilities in fabricating and assembling insulating systems.

Work Environment
Work will be performed at PSNS on the USS REAGAN. The environment involves shipyard conditions, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a physically demanding setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Bremerton, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
