Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Waco, Texas. This is a long-term contract position designed for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will oversee various accounting functions, provide strategic financial insights, and play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of project finances.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures aligned with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Review and analyze project financial statements to ensure all transactions are accurate and transparent.
• Manage and reconcile Work-in-Progress schedules, including profitability analysis, revenue recognition, and job costing.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for projects, monitor variances, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership teams to align financial objectives and communicate project status effectively.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff to support detail-oriented development and ensure continuous improvement.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Strengthen and enhance internal controls across all accounting processes to ensure operational efficiency. Requirements • Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance requirements.
• Experience in account reconciliation and ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing journal entries for a variety of transactions.
• Ability to analyze project finances and deliver insights on profitability and cost management.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and its practical applications.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and managing accounting teams.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
