Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will oversee key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This is a contract position within the non-profit sector, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to meaningful organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements to provide insights into organizational performance.

• Review and approve journal entries to maintain consistency and accuracy in accounting records.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure proper documentation and alignment.

• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

• Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

• Maintain detailed records and support audits as needed.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team on best practices.

• Ensure all financial activities align with organizational policies and objectives.

Requirements

• Strong experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and account reconciliations.

• Expertise in preparing and reviewing journal entries.

• Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis.

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
