    Accountant

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the month and year-end closing processes and the preparation of financial statements. This role involves preparing and processing journal entries, leading inventory cycle counts, and supporting production cost accounting.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assist in the month and year-end closing process for the preparation of financial statements.

    + Prepare and process journal entries, including payroll, depreciation, lease, prepaid expense, and accrued expense.

    + Lead weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts throughout the plant and perform inventory reconciliation.

    + Review and analyze purchase order and accounts payable invoice costs by project.

    + Assist the Controller with production cost accounting and system implementation as needed.

    + Support continuous process improvements within the accounting department.

    + Assist the Controller with building and organizing internal profit and loss statements by business segment.

    + Travel locally between manufacturing sites as needed to support the full accounting department.

    + Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy.

    + Resolve accounts payable discrepancies with the appropriate department internally.

    + Prepare and process weekly check runs along with wire and ACH payments.

    + Maintain and update vendor files including contact information, payment terms, and tax documentation.

    + Update and maintain the fixed assets schedule and depreciation.

    + Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings.

    + Prepare month-end and year-end schedules.

    + Participate in cross-training as a backup in other areas such as accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

    + Engage with operations on the shop floor to gain a complete understanding of all business facets.

    Essential Skills:

    + Proficient in accounting, cost analysis, and journal entry preparation.

    + Strong understanding of month-end processes and general ledger management.

    + Experience with financial statement preparation.

    + Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

    + 3-5 years of experience within accounting in a manufacturing environment.

    + Familiarity with Epicor or similar systems like SAP.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    + Experience in cost accounting is beneficial but not required.

    + AP/AR knowledge is advantageous as the candidate will serve as a backup.

    + Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.

    Work Environment:

    The position is based onsite at the Solon facility and requires working Monday through Friday.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Solon, OH.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $26.44/hr.
