The Advice & Wealth Solutions Methodology team is looking for curious and passionate candidates who are interested in playing a critical role in the design and delivery of Vanguard’s advice solutions. The Methodology team is responsible for transforming Vanguard’s financial planning and portfolio construction thought leadership into clear and actionable methodologies. We then partner with internal teams and external vendors to build client-centric advice solutions, which are embedded into our various advice offers.

Here, you will pair investment expertise, analytical skills, and technical acumen to design and deliver next generation advice solutions. This dynamic role provides the opportunity to feel your impact on the investment outcomes of hundreds of thousands of investors and fosters development of deep subject matter expertise in various investment and financial planning methodologies. Finally, this role provides the opportunity to partner with a diverse set of stakeholders, including the teams responsible for Vanguard’s investment strategy, advice offer strategy, and advice solution delivery.

Core Responsibilities

+ Leads the development of changes to Vanguard's methodology. Partners with subject matter experts and our technology division to design solutions that meet changing business needs, regulatory requirements, and position Vanguard's advice ahead of external competitive developments.

+ Serves as an expert on the application of Vanguard's methodology in the development of client investment strategies, construction of portfolios, and/or delivery of financial planning advice.

+ Researches, analyzes, and provides recommended changes to our investments, portfolio construction, and wealth planning guidance. Ensures compliance with Vanguard methodology and investment guidelines while applying knowledge of the external business environment and its implications on Vanguard's strategic direction.

+ Anticipates implications, dependencies, and risks of methodology programs, and creatively solutions and escalates accordingly.

+ Serves as a subject matter expert for crew and leaders. Develops and conducts methodology training activities for all crew delivering advice to clients.

+ Develops an expert-level understanding of overall financial markets and the related legal, tax, and regulatory issues that impact Vanguard's methodology.

+ Serves as a mentor and coach to less-tenured crew and contributes to their development.

+ Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

+ Minimum of five years related work experience. Direct experience with financial & investment advice, digital product management, or analyst responsibilities preferred.

+ Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

+ CFP or CFA preferred.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Python, or other analytical applications preferred.

+ Ability to learn new investment or financial planning concepts quickly.
