    Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – 2025–2026 School Year Evergreen Park, IL

     

    Schedule: Full-time, approximately 35 hours per week

     

    Pay Rate: $55-$60 per hour

     

    Contract Duration: ASAP through End of School Year

    About the Role

    We are seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to provide high-quality instructional support to elementary students with diverse learning needs. This role involves delivering targeted intervention sessions, managing IEPs, and collaborating with general education staff to ensure student success.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Teach intervention sessions in reading and math across two locations:

    + Southwest Location: 2 reading sessions, 1 math session

    + Northwest Location: 2 reading sessions, 2 math sessions

    + Manage a caseload of approximately 14 students (IEP paperwork for 13 students).

    + Collaborate with other resource teachers for shared students.

    + Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and professional standards.

    + Communicate regularly with parents and participate in team planning.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).

    + Valid state teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement (LBS1 preferred).

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

    + Current CPR certification (if applicable).

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as required).

    + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Additional Details

    + Start Date: ASAP

    + End Date: End of current school year

    + Hours: 8:05 AM – 3:05 PM (45-minute unpaid lunch, 230 minutes planning time)

    + Schedule: Half-day at each location

    + Southwest: 8:05 AM – 11:15 AM

    + Northwest: 12:15 PM – 3:05 PM

    + Classroom Support: Para support provided
